Did you ever look at that game Cards Against Humanity and think “Hey, that’d be fun to play with friends on a weekend“?
Except your friends are half a continent away and you don’t really know who Dick Cheney is and all you ever talk about anyway is Oppar and Apple Butts and DON’T KILL BOK-DONG OR I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL QUIT KDRAMAS FOREVER AND EVER???
I used to think like that too so I channeled my sadnessness and built this beautiful (buggy) game: Kdramas Against Humanity.
A game you can play with your kdrama friends online. A game where you answer meaningful questions with equally meaningful things that only someone who has suffered through 50 Shades of Noble Idiocy will understand.
How to play Kdramas Against Humanity
It’s pretty simple. Every “round”, a Black Card with a question or incomplete statement is displayed. Your goal is to complete this Black Card using the White Cards Answer Cards (randomly) given to you.
Every round, one of the players is assigned as the Card Czar. The Czar will look at everyone’s answers and choose the funniest one. Or dirtiest. Depends who you’re playing with.
If your answer is chosen, you get 1 Awesome Point.
The next round starts with a new Black Card and new Card Czar. On and on until someone gets the highest possible Awesome Points score. (Currently set to 3 points, I’m testing to find if it should be higher or lower.)
Before you play: beware bugs 😦
Now before you run off and buy a crate of soju (because games + soju = awesome), I did say it was buggy, right? Like VERY BUGGY.
On touch screens, there’s a problem when you swipe down and refresh the page by accident:
I’m on my phone, it’s not working well.
-kakashi
Seriously I’m on mobile and I have no idea how to exit.
-drama_fan33
I refreshed and now I’m in there twice so I dropped out.
-Joanne
There’s also this mysterious feedback which I’m still figuring out:
I might be distracted by pickled cucumbers tomorrow again.
-mcromance111
And thanks to my twitter chingus who tested this game, I know that if Googling doesn’t work, I can try to look for an exorcist:
It’s possessed!
-becca
Buuut, it is playable and fun if you…
- Don’t refresh the page too much.
- Leave the room properly (this is also an important life lesson).
- Switch to a new room by clicking/tapping on the Kdramas Against Humanity text at the top of the page. This will put you back in the Hi, ____ screen.
- Close the tab or leave the page if you want to exit the game itself.
- Report bugs by commenting here (thank you, please) or catch me on twitter @kdramalaws
And if you play it, you’re helping me!
I’m going to be updating this as new bugs are found (and if I figure out how to fix). So you playing it and telling me about your experience will be a huge help!
If you also have ideas for punchlines or jokes, comment on here and I’ll add them to the list for the next game update.
That’s all. I hope you have fun!
This game took my recapping many steps behind today XD It’s going to turn into bliss, if one day it wins over drama-watching it will forge a new era of drama addicts, the ones against humanity! XD
Awww yissssss. But first: must fix the bugs! The amount of bugs is too damn high. :O
It already takes the art of whatever to a whole new level, once bugs are out of the game, the real game will begin. You could make a video in a SAW vein, something like “Hello kdrama addict, so far you’d been watching dramas carelessly, shipping OTPs, drooling over your oppas, hating in-laws, neglecting second leads or urging them to come back stronger, were you that naive thinking these sins won’t come back to haunt you? Do think you have what it takes to make it out of Kdramas Against Humanity Alive?” XD
Hm. I must be missing something cause for the life of me I can’t take any action after I joined an active game. Hm
Hi, those are probably buggy rooms. 😦 It’s better to start a game and ask your friends to join. Tell them your room name via fb or twitter? Some players bug out or just leave their pc/phone on. It leaves that particular room open and unable to proceed for others.
I’m looking for a way to force kick idle rooms or players in future so it doesn’t confuse new players.
